It will take more than a month to visit important tourist places in Maharashtra state of India. This state has scenic beauty, mountainous regions, jungles, ancient , medieval places to cover.
Transport – The transport system is excellent and the public transport is available even in very remote areas. I particularly suggest to keep handy information about transport connections as people either do not have enough knowledge and people are not conversant with English even in city.
Food – In small places it is slightly difficult to get South or North food. You will get only Maharashtra food which is slightly sweet. At least I found difficult to swallow food as I am particular about my liking only. But still you can manage.
Language – We do not find English conversant people in Maharashtra so easily. They understand Hindi in city but in rural areas you can not communicate in Hindi.
Public – Public is slightly uncaring about tourist (my experience at all places in Maharashtra). They are even not aware of the importance of historic places in their area even. So keep all information handy for travel connections. I covered all these places using hired taxi.
Where to stay in Mahabaleshwar
All these places I covered during my 3 Nights stay at MSTDC hotel with center point as Mahabaleshwar. In Mahabaleshwar there is one very good and spacious MTDC hotel. This building was once upon a time a British office. It is nice experience to stay and eco is very good. Hotel is OK and in rage of Rs. 2100 to Rs.3000 per day.
