This is one of the most neglected monuments ever seen by me. Just like a piece of meat is thrown in front of a dog, in the same way an unclaimed arrow has been thrown at the foot of its fate for this great heritage ‘Dhai Din Ka Jhopra’. It pains seeing this monument – so many sky-high screen walls, amazing carvings and in front moaning beggars lying in tattered old clothes lying inside for shelter and outside this monument and with no security around.

Akbar Fort, Ajmer, one of least known forts, it is the fort where Akbar and Jahangir visited frequently, Jodhabai and Akbar walked barefoot to visit in 1566 Moinuddin Chishti tomb in want to son, Firmaan was issued to allow East India company to do business which paved way to colonization and full plot of Handigati was planned here.

The Jodhpur is the collection of fort, palaces, memorials and temples of the Marwar dynasty. The majestic Mehrangarh fort, the centaphs of Jaswanth thada, Ummaid bhawan palace and old cenotaphs of Mandore garden are classic structures which sing the wealth of Marwar kingdom in their time.

The maintenance reminds me Hampton Court palace of Tudor Dynasty in London, where it feels King still lives there. One of the best preserved forts of India.

There are about no less than 15 landmark worth seeing monuments and at least 3 full days are needed to visit these. This includes one day stay at desert camp and activities in sand dunes like jeep safari , camel riding and folk dance. Fort needs half day.

Khaba Fort may fall below your expectation and you may curse me to hype this fort for visitors. These places were once throb of life, bustling when Silk Route was alive. We can not expect the disco here or some miraculous scenery. These are barren land and come prepared to listen the breath of desert, golden sand around all the paths, no human life around, cactus, bushes and only few trees scattered.
