Three hundred years old fort Jaigarh Fort and just 3 square KM in area, is a small fort and main attraction here is “World’s Largest Cannon on Wheel” only. This fort was built by Raja Jai Singh II in 1726 to protect Amer Fort. This fort was used as a cannon foundry by Shah Jahan as the air sucked into furnaces will give rise to high temperature as 2400 degrees.
One day tour itinerary at Jaipur
As per my itinerary I reach Jaipur at 4 PM from Sawai Madhopur by train. I check in at RTDC Hotel which I had booked online. There is a RTDC Tourist bus service office attached to the hotel.
My 10 days Itinerary
I have one day only and there are many points to be covered in Jaipur so rightly I thought to book the RTDC one day tour for next day. Their charge is Rs.300 for 9 AM to 5 PM tour. Hotel booking link is https://rtdc.tourism.rajasthan.gov.in/Client/HotelList.aspx
The RTDC bus came on exact time. I was happy to see that they did not wait for people who were late. The first point they showed us was Birla Temple which is made completely of marble.
On the hill backside is visible Rani Gayatri Devi Palace.
We have to walk about a kilometer from the Jaigarh entrance gate to the world largest cannon.
Guide did not come with us as there was nothing in this fort except this huge cannon. There was many tourists including many foreigners.
Epilogue
The RTDC Tour guide gave us 30 minutes to see this fort and that is enough. After this we moved for Nahargarh fort.
